Terms of Use (EULA) — Papyr

Welcome to Papyr ("the App"), operated by Martin Condet, registered as auto-entrepreneur in France.

By using the App, you agree to these terms.

1. The App

Papyr is a PDF reader with AI-powered audiobook conversion. The PDF reader and Book Mode are free. Premium AI audio conversion is available via subscription.

2. Free Features

The free tier includes:

  • Full-featured PDF reader with dark mode
  • Book Mode (clean, paginated reading experience)
  • Annotations, highlights, and bookmarks
  • Apple's built-in text-to-speech (Quick Listen, on-device)
  • A brief sample of Chatterbox AI audio (~15 minutes)

3. Subscriptions & Purchases

Papyr Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription. Extra audio hours are available as consumable in-app purchases. Prices vary by country and are displayed in the App before purchase.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

4. Audio Conversion

  • Subscriptions include a monthly audio generation allowance (in hours). Unused subscription hours do not carry over.
  • Extra hour packs never expire and carry over each month.
  • Conversion quality and processing time depend on document length and server availability.
  • Cache hits (previously converted documents) are always free and do not count against limits.
  • We do not guarantee specific turnaround times for audio conversion.

5. Your Content

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to convert documents you upload. Papyr is a tool for converting your own documents — it is not a distribution platform. We do not host, browse, or distribute PDF content.

6. Intellectual Property

Papyr, including its name, design, and code, is the intellectual property of Martin Condet. All rights reserved. The Chatterbox TTS engine is used under license.

7. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is". Martin Condet disclaims all express or implied warranties to the extent permitted by law. Audio conversion quality may vary depending on document formatting and language.

8. Fair Use

Attempting to circumvent limits, abuse the service, or use automated tools to submit bulk conversions may result in service restriction.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
